# Does native Shopify B2B integrate with any third-party trade-credit or invoice-financing provider, or is that entirely external?

## Short answer

Native Shopify business-to-business (B2B) has no built-in trade credit or invoice financing; providers integrate from outside, as checkout payment apps. Shopify's B2B payment features include terms, reminders, bank debits and saved cards ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/getting-started/plan-features), October 2026). Resolve, for one, requires each financed company location on "No payment terms", so a location can't run both ([Resolve's Shopify guide](https://docs.resolvepay.com/guides/shopify-b2b), October 2026).

- **Financing built into Shopify B2B:** None. Shopify's B2B plan table lists net terms, reminders, ACH, vaulted cards and Plus-only deposits and partial payments. Shopify Credit is the merchant's own business charge card (October 2026). ([Shopify Help Center, Shopify B2B features by plan](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/getting-started/plan-features); [Shopify Help Center, Getting started with Shopify Credit](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/finance/shopify-credit/getting-started))
- **Resolve on a company location:** Needs "No payment terms". Resolve's guide: a company on any other term, such as Net 30, "will not be able to checkout with Resolve". With no terms, the buyer sees Resolve's "Pay with net terms" option (October 2026). ([Resolve Docs, Shopify B2B](https://docs.resolvepay.com/guides/shopify-b2b))
- **Resolve's published fee:** 2.61% on 30-day terms. At a 90% advance, per Resolve's financing page, which calls Resolve "non-recourse financing". Its pricing page calls Net 30 and Net 60 fees "risk based", and its listing adds a SaaS fee (October 2026). - **Provider listings on the App Store:** Free to install, no reviews yet. Resolve Pay, Credit Key B2B Payments and Balance are free to install and had no reviews in October 2026. Resolve and Credit Key charge financing or transaction fees on top. ## Deploi's call

Trade credit is external to Shopify's business-to-business (B2B) features, so treat it as a per-account decision, not a platform decision. Finance the accounts whose size or risk you would rather not carry, keep the rest on native terms, and accept that, with Resolve, financed and native terms sit on different company locations. That is a segmentation exercise your finance team can run without an engineer.

**BUY: Finance an account through a provider when**

- Carrying 30 to 60 days of that account's receivables would strain cash, the case [our net terms record](https://deploi.ca/shopify/build-vs-buy/net-terms-and-b2b-payments) scores BUY (October 2026).
- The contract says what happens to any share of the invoice the provider doesn't advance. Resolve advances up to 90% ([Resolve](https://resolvepay.com/customer-financing), October 2026).
- The account's company location can move to "No payment terms", which Resolve requires ([Resolve's Shopify guide](https://docs.resolvepay.com/guides/shopify-b2b), October 2026).

**CUSTOMIZE: Keep the account on native terms when**

- Your balance sheet can carry the term, so a financing fee buys nothing you need.
- What you lack is a credit limit or an order hold, which [our credit limit record](https://deploi.ca/shopify/build-vs-buy/b2b-credit-limit-and-order-hold-management) scores BUILD. Financing doesn't fix that (October 2026).
- The buyer relationship is the asset, and you don't want a third party chasing it.

## Does native Shopify B2B include trade credit or invoice financing?

Native Shopify business-to-business (B2B) includes no trade credit or invoice financing, so financing a wholesale account is a third-party arrangement. Shopify's B2B plan table lists net terms, payment reminders, Automated Clearing House (ACH) debits in the United States and vaulted credit cards on every plan. Shopify Plus adds deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/getting-started/plan-features), October 2026). Each of those collects money you're owed; none advances it. "Payments aren't automatically captured when the payment terms expire" ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/checkout-and-orders/payment-terms), October 2026), so collecting stays your job, as [how net terms run from order to payment](https://deploi.ca/shopify/faq/b2b-net-terms-invoice-to-payment-flow) shows.

Shopify's own credit product doesn't change that. Shopify Credit is "a business Visa charge card that requires full payment of the balance", issued to the merchant, not the buyer ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/finance/shopify-credit/getting-started), October 2026). So trade credit enters Shopify B2B the way any outside payment method does: as an app at checkout.

## How does a trade-credit provider plug into Shopify B2B checkout?

A trade-credit provider plugs into Shopify business-to-business (B2B) checkout as a payment app, and Resolve documents that it replaces native terms on the company location. Resolve's guide says to keep the default "No payment terms" on every company location, and those buyers then see Resolve's "Pay with net terms" option at checkout ([Resolve](https://docs.resolvepay.com/guides/shopify-b2b), October 2026). A company on any other term, such as Net 30, "will not be able to checkout with Resolve". So the choice is made location by location, and [the cost of carrying Net 60 yourself](https://deploi.ca/shopify/faq/net-60-terms-vs-upfront-payment-cash-flow) applies to every location you keep on native terms.

Credit Key also adds itself "as an additional payment method" at Shopify checkout and "assumes the credit risk" ([Credit Key](https://blog.creditkey.com/credit-key-shopify-b2b-payments), September 2026). Its post doesn't say how it behaves on a location with native terms, so ask before you install. To hide a provider from retail buyers, Shopify points to apps such as Checkout Blocks, or the Payment Customization Function API ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b/getting-started/considerations), October 2026).

## How do native terms and provider-financed terms compare?

Native terms and provider-financed terms differ on who carries the receivable, who decides credit and when the cash arrives, so a provider's fee buys risk transfer, underwriting and early cash together.

**Native terms keep the receivable and the collecting with you; a provider takes both for a fee**

| Factor | Native Shopify terms | Provider-financed terms |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Who carries the receivable | You | The provider, on its contract's recourse terms |
| Who decides credit | You, outside Shopify | The provider's underwriting |
| When you get paid | When the buyer pays | Resolve: 1 to 2 days; Credit Key: as little as 48 hours |
| What it costs | Your cost of capital and collections time | Resolve: 2.61% on 30-day terms at a 90% advance, plus a SaaS fee; Credit Key: volume dependent |
| Who collects | You | The provider |
| Company location setting | Payment terms set | Resolve: No payment terms |

> **Resolve publishes a fee and also calls its fees risk based**
> - Resolve's financing page: "Resolve fees are 2.61% on 30 day net terms" ([Resolve](https://resolvepay.com/customer-financing), October 2026).
> - Resolve's pricing page lists advance invoice fees as "Net 30: risk based" and "Net 60: risk based" ([Resolve pricing](https://resolvepay.com/pricing/), October 2026).
> - So treat 2.61% as Resolve's published figure, and get your own rate in writing.

## What should you ask a trade-credit provider before signing?

Ask every trade-credit provider the same five questions in writing, because Resolve Pay, Credit Key and Balance all had no App Store reviews in October 2026 ([Resolve Pay](https://apps.shopify.com/resolvepay), [Credit Key](https://apps.shopify.com/credit-key-payments) and [Balance](https://apps.shopify.com/balance) listings). With no reviews to read, the contract is your evidence.

1. **Is it non-recourse on the whole invoice?** Resolve says "Resolve is non-recourse financing (and not a loan)" and advances "up to 90%" of an invoice ([Resolve](https://resolvepay.com/customer-financing), October 2026). Ask what happens to the rest when a buyer defaults.
1. **What is the all-in cost** as a percentage of invoice value, including any platform fee, at each term length?
1. **Which of your accounts would they decline?** A provider that declines your top three wholesale accounts hasn't solved your problem.
1. **What does the buyer see and sign?** Credit Key notes that a "Personal guaranty may be required" ([Credit Key](https://blog.creditkey.com/credit-key-shopify-b2b-payments), September 2026), and some wholesale buyers will refuse.
1. **What happens on a dispute, a partial shipment or a return?** Three-party disputes are where these arrangements get expensive.

## Is a credit-limit app the same thing as trade credit?

A credit-limit app isn't trade credit: it manages limits and receivables aging for business-to-business (B2B) accounts on your own books, while a financing provider takes the receivable off them. Two such listings launched in May 2026 and had no reviews in October 2026 ([Net Terms Tracker](https://apps.shopify.com/net-terms-tracker) and [Net Vantage](https://apps.shopify.com/net-vantage) listings):

- **Net Terms Tracker: B2B Credit** by HJBCodeForge is free for 5 net terms customers, or $29 a month for unlimited. It "Works alongside Shopify's native B2B or on its own".
- **Net Vantage** by Valence Core LLC costs $29, $59 or $99 a month by customer count. It tracks aging from 0 to 30 days through 90-plus, and "B2B stores can also restrict or block over-limit checkouts".

New listings with no reviews show the gap is being served, not that it's solved, so pilot either one on a single account first. [Our credit limit record](https://deploi.ca/shopify/build-vs-buy/b2b-credit-limit-and-order-hold-management) scores enforcement itself BUILD (October 2026).

## When should you not finance B2B terms?

Don't finance business-to-business (B2B) terms when the fee buys you less than the control it costs, because a provider takes over credit decisions and collections along with the receivable.

> **When not to do this**
> - **When your gross margin can't absorb the fee on your largest accounts.** Run the numbers on your top three accounts first, not on the average.
> - **When the buyer relationship is the asset.** Handing collections to a third party changes who chases your customer, and some accounts will notice.
> - **When the real problem is that you can't see your aging.** Financing hides that problem for a fee; it doesn't fix it.
> - **When you want both on one company location.** Resolve's rule puts financed and native terms on different locations ([Resolve](https://docs.resolvepay.com/guides/shopify-b2b), October 2026).

*This page describes product configuration and commercial questions, not financial or credit advice. Provider terms, recourse and fees are contractual and must be verified with the provider.*

## Deploi's point of view

**Where we disagree.** This category is marketed as risk removal, and the recourse question decides whether that is true. Resolve's site says "Resolve is non-recourse financing" and advances up to 90% of an invoice up front, so ask in writing what happens to the rest when a buyer defaults. Until a contract confirms non-recourse, assume the receivable comes back to you and price the arrangement as a cash-flow accelerator rather than as insurance.

**How we scope it.** When a client asks us to integrate a financing provider with their net terms, we put Resolve's No payment terms rule on the table first. In our judgment the scope then becomes a list of account names, which is a cheaper and more useful conversation than an integration.

**What we refuse to quote.** A fee band for the whole trade-credit category. Resolve publishes 2.61% on 30-day terms on one page and risk-based fees on another, Credit Key calls its merchant fee volume dependent, and a made-up band would be the exact class of error this hub exists to avoid.

**What this page adds.** The parent covers native terms you carry yourself. This page covers handing the receivable to a provider: Shopify B2B has no built-in financing, Resolve requires no native terms on a financed company location, Resolve publishes its fee and recourse terms, and five questions separate one provider from another.

## When this answer changes

- Shopify adds built-in trade credit, or names a financing partner, for business-to-business (B2B) checkout.
- Resolve drops its No payment terms requirement, or changes its published fee or advance rate.
- Credit Key or Balance documents how its payment method behaves on a company location with native terms.
- A trade-credit provider's App Store listing gathers its first reviews.
- Shopify adds credit limits or order holds to native B2B payment terms.
