Collection page
A collection page is the template Shopify renders for a collection: its title, an optional description and banner, and the product loop the listing grid draws from. In this graph the listing behavior itself — grid, cards, facets, paging — is recorded under the product listing page term, and this term carries the work that surrounds it.
How We've Used It
Two gated builds sit here. One is the layout's asset delivery: where the font and stylesheet files come from, and which image a collection template preloads before the grid draws. The other is a merchandiser-placed promo card that a results grid renders only while a named facet is active. Both are a useful reminder that a collection template is more than its grid — the page has a banner, a description and a load order of its own, all of which exist before a single product tile does. Where the subject is the grid rather than the page around it, the work is recorded on the product listing page instead. Same URL, different concern, and keeping the two apart stops one term from quietly absorbing the other.
