Methodology

Caveats: Shopify Plus 1-year versus 3-year term: cost over 36 months

  • Cost over 36 months is the published monthly price times 36, computed by Deploi. A 1-year term commits 12 months, so its 36-month cost assumes two renewals at today's published price; the dataset holds no renewal price.
  • The Plus plan and pricing pages Deploi read do not publish early-exit terms, so the dataset records no exit cost and does not infer one.
  • Shopify's pricing pages say a 1- or 3-year Plus subscription can be cancelled when the term commitment expires.
  • Shopify's Help Center gives the Plus prices for standard setups and integrations. For more complex, higher-volume businesses there might be a variable platform fee based on revenue and business model, which the dataset does not price.
  • The costs are the Plus subscription only. Card fees, apps, extra stores and taxes are excluded.
  • Prices are in US dollars for the United States and Canadian dollars for Canada.
