Short answer

The number of items on each of nine Shopify Edition pages from Summer '22 to Spring '26, the number of those items that are about AI, and the item count by product area for Spring '26. Counts are Deploi's, made by script from Edition pages retrieved October 18, 2026, and release dates come from Shopify's announcements. The AI share of items is computed by Deploi.

Methodology

Caveats: Shopify Editions: items per Edition and by product area

Item counts are Deploi's, counted by script from dated page snapshots as unique feature headings. They can differ from the update totals Shopify states, such as "150+ updates" for Spring '26.
AI items are the items in the Edition page's own AI section (AI for commerce, Sidekick or Agentic). Summer '22, Winter '23, Winter '24 and Winter '25 have no such section, so Deploi counted items whose title names AI or a Shopify AI product, such as Sidekick, Shopify Magic or an agent.
In Spring '26, some items outside the Sidekick and Agentic filters name AI in their title and are not counted as AI items.
Winter '24 items are the headings of every card on the page, in all four card sizes: 199, as many as the page's own product list links, including 7 customer case studies. The page states "100+ foundational product updates".
Product areas are the categories in the Spring '26 page's own filter bar. Earlier Editions have no area rows.
