Does Elevar actually guarantee accurate purchase data, and what does its accuracy claim mean in practice?

No guarantee is published. Elevar's marketing claims "nearly 100% of ad and website conversion data" (audiense.com, September 2026), and the product behind that phrase is a Channel Accuracy report that measures delivery, not attribution. Elevar's own documentation includes a page titled "Why Doesn't Channel Accuracy Equal 100%" (docs.getelevar.com, January 2026).

What the claim says, precisely

The vendor's current marketing page states that the product captures "nearly 100% of ad and website conversion data" (audiense.com, September 2026). Note the hedge. "Nearly 100%" is a directional claim, not a service level, and we found no published accuracy SLA, no remedy, and no third-party audit attached to it.

What the product actually measures

Elevar's documentation is clearer than its marketing, which is to the vendor's credit. Channel Accuracy is a reconciliation:

  • "We log Shopify orders (i.e. source of truth)"
  • "When sending conversions to your server-side destinations (e.g. Facebook CAPI, Google Analytics), we log the success or failure responses"
  • "We also log the number of orders you have specifically chosen not to send"
  • "We calculate the % difference (e.g. 95 transactions sent to FB + 5 ignored transactions / 100 total Shopify orders = 100%)"

All per docs.getelevar.com, January 2026.

Read that formula carefully. It answers one question: did an event for every Shopify order either reach the destination or get deliberately excluded. It does not answer whether the destination attributed the conversion to the right channel, whether the value was right, or whether the platform's reported number will match your finance system.

That is a real and useful thing to measure. It is also a narrower thing than "accurate purchase data" implies to a marketing director reading the homepage.

The three meanings of "accuracy" that get conflated

MeaningWho owns itDoes Elevar's report cover it
Did the event get delivered for every orderThe tracking vendorYes, this is exactly Channel Accuracy
Is the value and identity on the event correctShared: your configuration, the vendor's pipelinePartly, and it depends on your setup
Did the ad platform attribute the order to the right channelThe ad platform's modelNo, and no vendor can

Most disputes about tracking accuracy are about the third row. No pipeline product resolves the third row, because it is a modelling disagreement between platforms, not a data-delivery failure.

The documented reasons it falls short of 100%

Elevar publishes them, which is unusually candid for the category. Their named scenarios for a Meta match below 95% include running on the pre-26 October 2022 webhook integration, relying on client-side Conversions API setup rather than the webhook integration, firing the purchase event only on the final thank-you page of an upsell funnel, and running multiple checkouts such as Shopify plus Recharge without configuring both (docs.getelevar.com, January 2026).

Every one of those is an implementation state, not a product defect. Which is the honest summary of the whole question: the accuracy you get is mostly a function of how the thing was installed.

How to hold the claim to account yourself

  1. Pick one channel and one month. Meta first, because it has the most complete server-side path.
  2. Pull three numbers: Shopify orders in the window, orders Elevar reports as delivered or deliberately excluded, and the platform's own reported conversions.
  3. Expect rows one and two to reconcile. If they do not, that is a delivery problem and it is the vendor's to explain.
  4. Expect row three to differ from both. That is attribution, and it is not a bug.
  5. Re-run after every checkout or app change. A silent tracking outage looks exactly like a bad month until you reconcile.

What we refuse to state

We found no published contractual accuracy commitment from Elevar, and no published uptime or delivery SLA for the event pipeline. We are not going to characterize private contract terms we have not read. If accuracy is contractually material to you, ask for the SLA by name and read what the remedy is.

The Deploi point of view

Our own position, from building on Shopify. Separate from the facts above.

  • Our take: Elevar does not guarantee accurate purchase data, and it does not claim to. It ships a delivery reconciliation and a candid documentation page explaining why that reconciliation lands below 100%. Treat "nearly 100%" as a description of delivery completeness under a correct install, and treat attribution as permanently unresolved.
  • What we’ve seen: The single most common cause of a low match rate is not the vendor. It is a second checkout path nobody mentioned during scoping, usually a subscription platform, sometimes a headless landing page, occasionally a post-purchase upsell whose thank-you page is a different page.
  • Times we’ve shipped this: 7 builds delivered.
  • Where we disagree: The category sells accuracy as a product attribute. It is an operating state. A correct install drifts out of accuracy on its own the first time a theme changes, an app is added or a checkout path forks, which is why the reconciliation report matters more than the headline percentage.
  • What this page adds: the exact formula behind Elevar's Channel Accuracy number, the three different things merchants mean by accuracy and which one the report actually covers, and the vendor's own published list of reasons it lands below 100%.
