Home>Apps & Integrations>Analytics & Attribution>Is Elevar Still Ahead of Triple Whale in 2026?

Is Elevar's 59.4% Shopify-analytics-app market share among Plus stores actually still the leading position in 2026, or has Triple Whale caught up?

The 59.4% figure is not a Plus-store number. It is Elevar's share of stores using any dedicated analytics app in a 183,408-store study published 27 February 2026: Elevar 1,670 stores, Triple Whale 490, Littledata 454, Northbeam 358 (StoreInspect). Elevar leads by roughly 3.4 times. No 2026 study we found segments that share by Plus.

Fix the claim before you use it

Two separate findings from the same study get welded together and the result is a statistic that does not exist.

  • Finding one: among the 2,810 stores in the sample running a dedicated analytics or attribution app, Elevar holds 1,670 stores, or 59.4%; Triple Whale 490 (17.4%); Littledata 454 (16.2%); Northbeam 358 (12.7%).
  • Finding two: "74.8% of all analytics app users are on Shopify Plus," against 14.5% for stores with no analytics tool, which the study describes as a 15.9x difference.

Both per StoreInspect, 183,408 stores, published 27 February 2026.

Finding one is a category share across the whole sample. Finding two is a statement about the population of analytics-app users generally, not about Elevar. Combining them into "59.4% share among Plus stores" produces a number nobody measured. If you are citing it in a deck, cite finding one as written.

Has Triple Whale caught up?

On the one published category study we could verify, no, and not by a small margin. 1,670 against 490 is roughly 3.4 to 1. Nothing we found this session shows that gap closing.

We should be honest about what that evidence is worth. It is one vendor's crawl, published in February 2026, and app-detection studies disagree with each other routinely because they differ on sample frame, on what counts as an "analytics app," and on whether they can see an app at all from the storefront.

The disagreement, shown rather than hidden

Three sources, three numbers, none of them contradicting each other, because they count different things over different frames. StoreLeads sees 8,923 installs across its whole index; StoreInspect saw 1,670 inside a 183,408-store sample. For scale, Triple Whale's Shopify listing carries 4.1 stars across 91 reviews as of 14 September 2026.

The finding that is more useful than the share

Buried in the same study: only 1.5% of the 183,408 stores run a dedicated analytics tool at all, and adoption rises steeply with traffic, from 0.5% of stores under 50,000 visitors to 25.12% at 200,000 to 1M and 57.14% at 5M to 20M.

That reframes the whole question. The competitive contest between these vendors is happening inside 1.5% of the market. If you are choosing a tracking vendor, your peer group is not "Shopify merchants." It is the high-traffic minority that instruments at all, and within that group the adoption curve tells you more about whether you should buy anything than the share table tells you about what to buy.

What we will not say

We found no 2026 study segmenting analytics-app share by Shopify plan. The Plus-specific version of this claim cannot be verified from published sources and should not be repeated, including by us.

We also will not treat market share as a quality signal. A 3.4x install lead tells you about distribution, partner channels and how long a product has been selling. It does not tell you which product fits your destination list, your order volume or your team.

The Deploi point of view

Our own position, from building on Shopify. Separate from the facts above.

  • Our take: Elevar still leads the published category study by a wide margin and the Plus-segmented version of that statistic does not exist. Use the share number to understand who your agency has probably implemented before, not to pick a vendor.
  • What we’ve seen: Install-share figures for this category vary by more than an order of magnitude between trackers because storefront detection is genuinely hard for a server-side product. We treat any single share number as one reading, not a fact.
  • Times we’ve shipped this: 7 builds delivered.
  • Where we disagree: Market-share statistics are used in this category as a proxy for correctness, which is how a distribution advantage turns into a purchasing default. The more decision-relevant number in the same study is the 1.5% adoption rate, and nobody quotes it because it does not help anyone sell.
  • What this page adds: that the 59.4% figure is a category share rather than a Plus-store share, the separate 74.8% finding it gets confused with, and the order-of-magnitude disagreement between install trackers on the same product.
