Is Deploi a certified Shopify Plus Partner, or does it not carry that badge?

No, Deploi does not carry a Shopify Plus Partner badge and claims no certifications anywhere on deploi.ca (verified September 2026). Shopify's own Q3 2026 partner guide lists five service-track tiers, Registered, Select, Plus, Premier and Platinum, earned on referral and merchant revenue thresholds rather than on a skills exam. Deploi's one stated partnership is the Agility CMS Partner Program.

The straight answer first

Deploi does not claim the badge. The site carries no certification claims at all, and the only partnership stated anywhere on it is membership in the Agility CMS Partner Program (verified on deploi.ca, September 2026). If a partner badge is a hard requirement in your procurement process, that is a clean disqualification and you should know it in the first conversation rather than the fifth.

What the badge measures, which is not what buyers think

Shopify's Q3 2026 partner program tiering guide sets out five service-track tiers, and the thresholds are revenue, not craft:

TierThreshold (either route)Merchant requirement
RegisteredEntry levelCore tools
Select≥ $100,000 new referral revenue, or ≥ $500,000 existing merchant revenue≥ 1 Plus or Enterprise merchant, or ≥ 10 standard-plan merchants
Plus≥ $500,000 new referral revenue, or ≥ $2,500,000 existing merchant revenue≥ 2 Plus or Enterprise merchants, or ≥ 40 standard
Premier≥ $2,000,000 new referral revenue, or ≥ $10,000,000 existing merchant revenue≥ 4 Plus or Enterprise merchants
Platinum≥ $5,000,000 new referral revenue, or ≥ $25,000,000 existing merchant revenue≥ 6 Plus or Enterprise merchants

Per Shopify's Partner Program Q3 2026 tiering guide, service track, verified September 2026.

Read the left column again. A tier is earned by the revenue an agency drives to Shopify and the plan-level of the merchants it works with. It is a commercial relationship measured commercially. It is not an examination, a code review, or a statement about whether anyone at the agency can build a metafield-driven PDP.

The naming has also shifted, which is why the question keeps getting asked. "Plus" is now a tier name inside that ladder, alongside Premier and Platinum, rather than a standalone "Shopify Plus Partner" designation of the kind agencies displayed for years. A badge in a footer may be accurate, stale, or referring to a program that has since been restructured.

What to ask instead, if you are vetting

  1. Show me the code. A repository, a theme, a pull request. Craft is visible in ten minutes.
  2. Who reviews and who deploys? Names and roles, not a team page.
  3. What have you shipped that looks like my problem? Metafield-driven PDP content, accessibility remediation and guided selling are different disciplines. Experience in one is not experience in the others.
  4. What happens when it breaks? Support terms in writing beat any badge.
  5. What would you refuse to build? The answer tells you whether you are talking to an engineer or a sales process.

When the badge genuinely matters

Two cases. If your procurement policy requires a listed partner, the requirement is the requirement and there is nothing to argue about. And if you want Shopify's own account team involved in an enterprise negotiation, an agency with a tier relationship can sometimes open that door faster. Neither case is about build quality, and both are legitimate reasons to shortlist elsewhere.

The Deploi point of view

Our own position, from building on Shopify. Separate from the facts above.

  • Our take: We would rather answer this question honestly than hedge it. The site claims no certifications because we have not claimed any, and inventing credentials to clear a checkbox is a worse trade than losing the deal.
  • What we’ve seen: Badges correlate with the size of an agency's merchant book, which correlates with how far down the bench your project lands. That is not an argument against badged agencies; it is an argument for asking who does the work.
  • Where we disagree: The market reads a partner tier as a quality signal. Shopify's own published thresholds say it is a revenue signal, and conflating the two is the most common vetting mistake we see mid-market teams make.
  • What this page adds: the actual Q3 2026 tier thresholds, and the five questions that substitute for the badge when you are vetting a storefront engineering partner.
