Common Questions
Should Shopify order data post to NetSuite as individual invoices or as a single daily/weekly batched journal entry?
Individual transactions win for order-level records; batched journal entries win for reconciliation. Post one NetSuite cash sale or invoice per Shopify order, then reconcile against a per-payout summary. A2X generates "a summarized journal entry, which is posted to NetSuite, each time a payout is received" (A2X, September 2026).
Should kitting happen on-demand at order time or be pre-assembled and held as its own SKU in 3PL inventory?
Assemble-to-order kitting is the right default for a Shopify brand whose kit mix still changes, and pre-assembled kit SKUs win once a kit's demand is stable and forecastable. Pre-kitting cuts the per-order pick touch and locks components you can no longer sell separately. Shopify Bundles caps fixed bundles at 30 components and tracks stock overall, never by location (Shopify Help Center, September 2026).
Does Xero make more sense than QuickBooks for a Shopify brand at the same revenue stage, or is the choice mostly about existing bookkeeper familiarity?
Xero and QuickBooks Online separate on two capabilities and converge on everything else. Xero charges no per-user fee on any plan but gates multi-currency to Established at $90 USD per month; QuickBooks Online caps billable users at 25 on Advanced at $340 USD per month and offers multicurrency from Essentials (Xero and Intuit, September 2026).
Is kitting the right solution for a subscription-box or bundle-heavy Shopify brand, or does that belong on the subscriptions/bundles app side instead?
Physical 3PL kitting is the wrong tool for a subscription box whose contents change every cycle, and app-side bundle logic with a per-cycle pick list is the right one. Pre-kitting a box that changes monthly turns unsold kits into dead components. Shopify Bundles caps dynamic bundles at 150 components and is unsupported outside the Online Store and headless storefronts (Shopify Help Center, September 2026).
