Is Elevar's 59.4% Shopify-analytics-app market share among Plus stores actually still the leading position in 2026, or has Triple Whale caught up?

Short answer

Elevar's 59.4% was never a Shopify Plus share, and April 2026 data put Triple Whale ahead, 7,300 records to 3,202 (StoreInspect, October 2026). The 59.4% is Elevar's 1,670 of 2,810 analytics-name matches on every plan in February 2026 (StoreInspect, October 2026), so Plus stores were only part of the base. StoreInspect says that output "does not establish global market share".

Deploi’s call

Elevar's 59.4% was never a market share: StoreInspect, which published it, said on 10 October 2026 that its counts do not establish one. Every install count we found from after February puts Triple Whale on more Shopify stores. No tracker publishes either app's share among Shopify Plus stores. Use install counts to learn which tools your agency has probably run before, not to pick a vendor, because Elevar and Triple Whale do different jobs and one store can run both.

BuyBuy Elevar when

  • The job is server-side conversion data for ad platforms, the profile Deploi's Elevar vs. Littledata record gives Elevar for paid-led, agency-run brands (October 2026).
  • Your agency already runs Elevar, which install counts can suggest but not prove.
  • You have priced it at your order volume: Elevar's App Store plans run from $225 to $1,250 a month (Shopify App Store, October 2026).

BuyBuy Triple Whale when

  • The job is one dashboard of spend and revenue across channels. Deploi's attribution platform record scores attribution platforms BUY from $50,000 a month in ad spend, the record's illustrative estimate (October 2026).
  • Your tracking is already audited, because the same record warns that attribution "is only as good as collection".
  • You may run both: StoreInspect says the provider cohorts it counts "can overlap" (StoreInspect, October 2026).

Where does Elevar's 59.4% figure come from?

Elevar's 59.4% comes from StoreInspect's 27 February 2026 research, now titled "Shopify Analytics Apps: A Dated Adoption Study" (StoreInspect, October 2026). StoreInspect, a firm that sells Shopify store data, found a tracked analytics name on 2,810 of 183,408 store records at least once in their stored history. Elevar, a server-side tracking app, matched on 1,670 of those 2,810, which is the 59.4% (Deploi arithmetic). Triple Whale, an attribution dashboard, matched on 490. On 10 October 2026 StoreInspect stopped printing a share and said the output "does not establish global market share".

So the 59.4% was never a share of Shopify Plus stores either. The study's Plus figure is separate: 2,053 of the 2,810 matching stores, 73.06%, carried a stored Plus flag, which StoreInspect says is "not verified subscription evidence". Joining the two into "59.4% among Plus stores" makes a number nobody measured. On cost, check whether Elevar's entry plan suits a non-Plus store.

Has Triple Whale caught up with Elevar in 2026?

Triple Whale is ahead on every 2026 count we found from after February, from the store-data firms StoreInspect and StoreLeads, and StoreLeads' growth figures put it ahead a year earlier too.

StoreInspect's directory now shows a "Market Share" of 76% for Triple Whale and 17% for Elevar across four analytics apps (StoreInspect, October 2026). By the October counts, Triple Whale shows up on about four times as many stores (Deploi arithmetic). StoreLeads puts Triple Whale's installs up 20.1% and Elevar's down 2.2% in a year (its Triple Whale report; its Elevar report, October 2026), which puts Triple Whale near 31,700 stores and Elevar near 9,100 a year earlier (Deploi arithmetic). So February's ranking reflects StoreInspect's method, not a lead Elevar later lost.

Why do the 2026 counts disagree so much?

The 2026 counts disagree because each tracker sees only what loads on a store's public pages, scans its own set of stores and defines an analytics app its own way. StoreInspect's February data counts a name seen in any stored snapshot, with "no observation-age ceiling", and says public signatures "miss backend profit trackers, warehouses, custom measurement and some configurations through tag managers" (StoreInspect, October 2026). Its April data takes each store's latest snapshot and warns that "Backend, native, custom and untracked tools can be missed" (StoreInspect, October 2026).

Price shapes the counts too. Triple Whale lists a free plan, while Elevar starts at $225 a month (Triple Whale; Elevar, Shopify App Store, October 2026). So a store count mixes free and paying stores differently for each app. Reviews do not track installs either: Elevar shows 4.8 stars on about 170 reviews and Triple Whale 4.0 stars on 92. The apps also overlap: StoreInspect says the provider cohorts it counts "can overlap", which means one store can count for both.

How many Shopify stores run an analytics app at all?

Few: StoreInspect's April data matched a dedicated analytics or attribution app on 6.15% of the 540,784 Shopify store records it scanned (StoreInspect, October 2026). Most matches sit at higher traffic. In its February data, 2,045 of the 2,810 matching stores were in estimated traffic tiers of 50,000 or more (Deploi arithmetic from StoreInspect, October 2026). Match rates ran from 0.50% under 50,000 to 25.12% at 200,000 to 1 million, and 4 of the 7 stores at 5 million to 20 million.

That reframes the contest. Elevar and Triple Whale compete inside a small, high-traffic minority, so your peer group is not "Shopify merchants". StoreInspect calls its tier rates "an association between a stored estimate and an ever-observed name", so read the curve as a direction, not a forecast.

What should a buyer not read into install share?

A buyer should not read product quality, or a Shopify Plus share, into install counts, because neither is what the counts measure.

Deploi’s point of view

Our own position, from building on Shopify. Kept apart from the sourced facts above.

Where we disagree
Market-share statistics are used in this category as a proxy for correctness, which is how a distribution advantage turns into a purchasing default. The more decision-relevant number in the same studies is how few stores show any analytics app, about 6% of those StoreInspect scanned in April, and it is rarely quoted because it does not help anyone sell.
How we read share figures
Store counts for one app differ several times over between trackers, and between one tracker's own studies: StoreInspect matched Triple Whale on 490 store records in February 2026 and on 7,300 in April. We treat any single share number as one reading, not a fact.
What this page adds
that the 59.4% figure is Elevar's 1,670 of 2,810 analytics-name matches in StoreInspect's February 2026 data, every plan, which StoreInspect says sets no market share; that StoreInspect's April data and StoreLeads put Triple Whale ahead by store count; and that no tracker publishes either app's share among Plus stores.

When this answer changes

  • StoreInspect, StoreLeads or another tracker publishes Elevar's or Triple Whale's share among Shopify Plus stores.
  • StoreInspect publishes a new analytics-app study or changes how it detects server-side tracking.
  • Triple Whale ends its free plan, or Elevar adds one.
  • The gap between Elevar's and Triple Whale's install counts narrows or reverses.
  • Deploi re-scores the Elevar vs. Littledata or attribution platform record.
