Is Klaviyo's product-review feature actually gated to Shopify and Shopify Plus only, or does it work on any ecommerce platform?

Klaviyo Reviews is not gated to Shopify Plus. Klaviyo supports Reviews on Shopify and WooCommerce only, with no Plus requirement, and bills it separately from email and SMS starting at $25 a month scaling with order volume (Klaviyo, September 2026). A paid Klaviyo Email plan is required. Other platforms are not supported.

The two gates, stated precisely

There is a platform gate and there is a plan gate, and they are not the ones people assume.

GateWhat Klaviyo says (Sep 2026)Effect
Ecommerce platform"Klaviyo Reviews is available for Shopify and WooCommerce stores." The getting-started article lists the prerequisite as "Use Shopify or WooCommerce as your ecommerce platform"Real. BigCommerce, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and custom storefronts are out
Shopify plan tierNo Plus requirement stated on either the product page or the help documentationNot a gate. Shopify Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus all qualify
Klaviyo plan"You must be a paid Klaviyo Email customer to use Klaviyo Reviews"Real. Free-tier Klaviyo accounts cannot add Reviews
Billing"Klaviyo Reviews is billed separately from Klaviyo email and SMS, and is not included with your Klaviyo email or SMS plan." Product page: "Plans start at $25 a month and scale with your order volume," entry level at $25/month for 250 ordersSeparate line item, priced on orders rather than profiles

Both the Klaviyo Help Center and Klaviyo's own Reviews product page were checked independently this session and agree on the platform list, the absence of a Plus requirement and the paid-email prerequisite.

Why the gate that exists is the one that matters

The platform gate bites exactly where the question implies: a brand running a second, non-Shopify storefront. If your main store is Shopify Plus and a regional or B2B site runs on BigCommerce or a headless custom build, Klaviyo Reviews covers the Shopify store and not the other one. You end up with either two review platforms and two review corpora, or one third-party review platform covering both.

That is an architecture decision, not a feature question, and it should be made before the reviews start accumulating. Review content is hard to move between platforms, and it accumulates from the day you switch it on.

The pricing shape is different from the rest of Klaviyo

Klaviyo's email plans price on profiles. Reviews prices on orders. Those two numbers move independently: a brand with a large list and modest order volume pays a lot for email and little for Reviews, and a brand with a small list and high repeat order volume pays the reverse. Do not estimate the Reviews line by scaling the email line.

Note on Klaviyo's published prices generally

The $25 per month starting figure comes from Klaviyo's Reviews product page, which returned content this session. Klaviyo's main pricing page returned navigation and footer only, with no pricing content, on both attempts this session, and returned nothing on two earlier attempts in an earlier verification pass. No email or SMS list price on this page or elsewhere in this thread is sourced from that page. Where an entry-level Klaviyo price is needed, this thread cites the Shopify App Store listing instead, which is a Shopify-controlled surface.

When NOT to use Klaviyo Reviews

  • When any storefront in the portfolio is not Shopify or WooCommerce. One review corpus across all stores is worth more than a bundled line item on one of them.
  • When you already have a large review corpus elsewhere. Migrating reviews is lossy, and the syndication and rich-result implications of losing history usually outweigh the consolidation benefit.
  • When the only argument is "it's in the same tool." It is a separate product with separate billing and separate pricing logic. The consolidation is in the login, not the invoice.
  • When you are on Klaviyo's free tier. A paid Email plan is a prerequisite, so the comparison is against the total of two line items.

The Deploi point of view

Our own position, from building on Shopify. Separate from the facts above.

  • Our take: Klaviyo Reviews is platform-gated, not plan-gated. The question to ask is not "am I on Plus" but "is every storefront I need reviews on either Shopify or WooCommerce." If the answer is no, this is the wrong product for a portfolio, regardless of how good the Klaviyo integration is on the Shopify store.
  • What we’ve seen: Reviews consolidation gets approved on the strength of "it's already in Klaviyo" and unwinds when the second storefront turns out to be out of scope. The check takes two minutes and it is almost never run before the decision.
  • Where we disagree: Klaviyo Reviews is usually evaluated as a feature of Klaviyo. It is a separately billed product with its own pricing basis, orders rather than profiles, and its own platform support list. Evaluate it against Okendo, Yotpo or Judge.me on its own merits, not as a bundle discount, and note that Shopify's own Product Reviews app is retired so "just use the native one" is no longer an option.
  • What this page adds: the exact platform support list and the absence of a Plus gate, the paid-Email prerequisite, the orders-based pricing basis that diverges from Klaviyo's profile-based email pricing, and the portfolio problem a second non-Shopify storefront creates.
