Does Klaviyo support Shopify Markets for a multi-currency, multi-language mid-market brand?
Short answer
Klaviyo supports Shopify Markets for region markets, syncing each customer's locale and a catalog localized by language and currency (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026). Business-to-business (B2B) and Retail markets do not sync, and the sync runs on one account per store. Revenue shows under one currency symbol, unconverted, so report it by market from Shopify (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026).

Deploi’s call
Klaviyo supports Shopify Markets well on the sending side and thinly on the reporting side. Run one Klaviyo account per Shopify store, branch flows by locale, and report revenue by market from Shopify's orders rather than from Klaviyo. Do not split accounts to fix a reporting problem; split them only when you split stores.
BuyRun one Klaviyo account with the Markets sync when
- Your regions sell from one Shopify store with Markets, because Klaviyo "works best as a 1:1 sync with your ecommerce store or website" (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026).
- You email several markets in their own language and currency, and want one template to localize copy, prices and currency for each recipient.
- Finance reports revenue by market from Shopify, where every order records the shop currency and the customer's currency (Shopify developer docs, October 2026).
- Your lifecycle team would rather keep one set of flows branched by locale than copies to keep in step across accounts.
BuyGive each regional store its own Klaviyo account when
- A region trades as its own legal entity, a new brand or a dedicated business-to-business (B2B) store. Deploi's record puts each of those on an expansion store, a second store on the same Shopify Plus contract (Deploi Build vs. Buy, October 2026).
- Someone will own a portfolio report that converts every account's revenue into one currency (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026).
- Someone will own keeping flows in step, because Klaviyo's clones are copies that leave out coupons, review blocks and dynamic content (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026).

What does Klaviyo sync from Shopify Markets?
Klaviyo syncs Shopify Markets as locale, a language and region code such as "en-US", on profiles, order events and the product catalog (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026). Shopify Markets is Shopify's tool for tailoring one store by customer location, customer group, retail location or sales channel (Shopify Help Center, October 2026). A locale pairs one language with one region, joining two settings that Shopify keeps apart as languages and markets. The sync is one reason Klaviyo leads Deploi's three-way comparison for international brands, so it pays to know exactly what crosses over:
- Profiles: a Locale property, with Locale Language and Locale Country for segmenting customers by market.
- Order events: "All order related events from Shopify will include a locale."
- Catalog: every region and language pair the storefront supports, with localized title, price, compare-at price, status, currency and URL.
You switch the sync on in Klaviyo's Shopify integration settings, and the first sync of localized products can take several days on a large catalog.
Can one Klaviyo account email each market in its own language and currency?
Yes: one Klaviyo account can email each market in its own language and currency from a single template (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026). Three Klaviyo features do the work:
- Smart Translations translates a campaign into more than 60 languages (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026).
- Dynamic product blocks match each recipient's language and country "with product information, currency, and pricing that match their preferences", and leave out products not sold in that country.
- Static product blocks carry a "Localize for recipient" checkbox. When a recipient's locale is unknown, the block falls back to the store's default market.
Klaviyo also ships prebuilt localized abandoned checkout and order confirmation flows. So a shopper in Germany can get German copy with euro prices from the same Klaviyo account that emails Canadian customers in French, as long as both markets run on one Shopify store.
What does Klaviyo's Shopify Markets sync leave out?
Klaviyo's Shopify Markets sync leaves out Shopify's business-to-business (B2B) and Retail markets, and it runs on only one Klaviyo account per store. Klaviyo "supports Shopify region markets and does not currently sync B2B or Retail Markets" (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026). So a wholesale price list set in a B2B market never reaches Klaviyo's localized product blocks. A Retail market built around physical stores does not reach them either.
Klaviyo also states that "Shopify Markets can only be enabled once per Shopify account" (same source, October 2026). Moving the sync means switching it off in one Klaviyo account before switching it on in another. So one Shopify store cannot give a separate Klaviyo account per country its own localized catalog. Only the account running the sync gets it.
How does Klaviyo report revenue when a brand sells in several currencies?
Klaviyo reports revenue as a plain number under one account-level currency symbol. Klaviyo "does not perform any currency conversions with the data provided to it, except within the Benchmarks tab" (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026). For one store selling in several currencies, Klaviyo says "your ecommerce or payment platform typically handles these conversions in your store's backend" (same source).
So test one order before trusting Klaviyo's flow revenue. Place an order in a second currency and compare Klaviyo's Placed Order value with the two totals Shopify records on every order, in the shop currency and in the currency the customer paid (Shopify developer docs, October 2026). If Klaviyo shows the customer's currency, its revenue mixes currencies under one symbol. Either way, report revenue by market from Shopify's orders, because Shopify carries both currencies. Credit each order to a flow through the campaign tracking tags Klaviyo can add to every link. Expect that total to run below Klaviyo's attributed revenue, because tracking tags credit only orders that follow a click, while Klaviyo also counts an email opened without one (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026).
Should a multi-market brand run one Klaviyo account or one per region?
A multi-market brand should run one Klaviyo account per Shopify store, because "Klaviyo works best as a 1:1 sync with your ecommerce store or website" (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026). On that rule, one store with Markets runs one account, and separate regional stores run one each, Klaviyo's best practice for "several regional stores and domains" (Klaviyo Help Center, October 2026).
| Question | One store with Markets | An account per regional store |
|---|---|---|
| Localized catalog | Markets sync on the one account | Each account syncs its own store |
| Revenue reporting | One currency symbol, no conversion in Klaviyo | Own currency per account; a Klaviyo portfolio, a free multi-account view, converts them into one |
| Customer profiles | One profile per customer | A profile per account the customer buys from |
| Billing | One plan on billable profiles | A plan each, or one pooled plan if Klaviyo grants shared billing |
| Flows | One set, branched by locale | Cloned into each account, then edited separately |
So the store decision comes first and Klaviyo follows it. Deploi's expansion store record keeps a new region of the same brand on Markets, and gives a new brand, a dedicated business-to-business (B2B) store or a separate legal entity its own store.
When does a multi-market brand need a different Klaviyo setup?
A multi-market brand needs a different Klaviyo setup when part of the business cannot share one Shopify store, or when international is too small to need the Markets sync at all.
Deploi’s point of view
Our own position, from building on Shopify. Kept apart from the sourced facts above.
- What we’ve seen
- The account-per-region pattern looks tidy on a whiteboard and drifts in practice. Flows diverge because someone fixes a subject line in one account and not the other, and nobody notices until a market underperforms for a reason that turns out to be a typo.
- Where we disagree
- The common reading of Klaviyo's best practice is one Klaviyo account per country or currency. Klaviyo's advice is narrower: separate accounts for several regional stores and domains, while its Shopify Markets sync runs on one account per store. Opening regional stores to get cleaner Klaviyo reporting optimizes for reporting accuracy at the cost of operational consistency, and for most mid-market brands operational consistency is the more expensive thing to lose.
- What this page adds
- The parent's Markets row says Klaviyo localizes catalogs per market. This page adds exactly what syncs and what does not (B2B and Retail markets), that the sync runs on one Klaviyo account per store, how Klaviyo handles revenue across currencies, and when a regional store earns its own account.
Decision records behind this answer
When this answer changes
- Klaviyo starts syncing Shopify's business-to-business (B2B) or Retail markets.
- Klaviyo lets more than one account run the Shopify Markets sync for the same store.
- Klaviyo starts converting revenue between currencies inside an account, outside Benchmarks.
- Shopify starts syncing products, inventory or settings between expansion stores, which changes the cost of a regional store.
- Klaviyo makes shared billing a standard option for multi-account brands instead of a case-by-case request.

- What's the actual difference between 'multi-language' and 'multi-market' in Shopify's terminology? Are they always linked?
Multi-market and multi-language are separate Shopify settings, linked only through domains, because each market uses a domain and languages are assigned to domains (Shopify Help Center, October 2026).
